First, thanks to Tech Coach Chris for pointing us in the right direction. Todd Carpenter, of http://lenderama.com fame has applied to be the social media director at the NAR. Nobody would be better. He has created dozens of blogs, helped Lenderama become a great voice, and is universally respected in the Real Estate Blogopshere.
The NAR needs to learn to engage us with what’s going on, our tech class has dozens of agents getting real live business on the web, using Facebook and other media. There is no limit to what you can do, and so it’s really important to communicate using today’s real tools. Having the NAR really enagaged with what the members are DOING can be a good thing–if they followed some of my student twitter feeds, they’d see what was happening…and be able to offer real help.
Todd for his part has been respectful to EVERYONE on the RE.NET, and there is no better person for the job than tcar. Hopefully the NAR will be able to make a good choice here.
So, hopefully the NAR will pay attention to this, because Todd is already the right guy for the job.
