Picture 189One of our favorite monthly reads is the California Association of Realtors monthly magazine.

They do an excellent job balancing current trends with future looking content.

Speaking of content and balance…

We have been asked to recommend several California based Harris Real Estate University students for an upcoming story.

The topic of the article will be on time management and balance.

If you think this is a fit for you…drop me a quick email and I will put you in touch:

    Hi Tim and Julie!

It’s John Dumas, your DEVOTED HREU student :-) I wanted to thank you once again for the wonderful training you provide here at your University. Even though I am fairly new to the business, I feel leagues ahead of of my fellow agents who do not opt for additional training. I am currently enrolled in your Short Sale Secrets, REO Experts, Prospecting, and Agent Loan Modification Expert classes!

On to the CAR article. Time management and balance. In my first career, I was an Active Duty Officer in the US Army for 4 years, and a Captain in the reserves for another 4. It was in this career that the importance of time management and balance were made clear to me. I was 23 years old, a Platoon leader of 16 men and 4 tanks. We were set to deploy to Iraq for a 13 month Tour of Duty, and I had 6 months to ensure my soldiers were going to be ready for battle. Over those six months, time management became a critical part of my everyday planning. It was obvious I was going to have to maximize the preparation of my Platoon for war, while balancing the need for each soldier to spend as much time with their loved ones as possible before deployment.

I apply this same mentality to my everyday life as a REALTOR. In a different way, I am still responsible for the lives and well being of my clients, and I refuse to “go into battle” for them unprepared. That is why I believe additional training is crucial if we are to serve our clients to the best of our abilities. I use Harris Real Estate University as my resource for knowledge. Through their training, I have become a Short Sale Specialist, a REO/Foreclosure Expert, and an Agent Loan Modification Expert. I look forward to utilizing the knowledge I have gained to help as many families as possible reconnect with their vision of the American Dream.
