I made a promise to myself and the students of HREU that we would provide real information..not fluff…Our purpose is to do everything in our power  so that our students are not only focusing on what opportunities they have now…but, what will happen next.

Harris Real Estate University students refer to this as real time coaching.

As you know, often what you will read on this blog is not…what we call…’Real Estate Politically Correct’. We want you to be prepared for the worst…and hopeful for the best. Common sense, right?

Frankly our industry would prefer that we NOT share this information with you. The old gaurd real estate thinking is to keep agents ignorant. Control with the agents think….control the agent. We are blessed to have many of the nations largest and most successful real estate brokerages on board with the new HREU Ethos:

Empower the agent with the best education, instill a true sense of purpose…being of service to others and focusing on what you are here to give..and everything else will follow.

So PC gloves are off… I am going on the record for a few things:

1) We hated the bank bail out. When that was originally proposed we literally wrote to our Senator (Harry Reid) that it was a mistake. (He did write back, telling us that it was necessary or the world would come to an end…and he was voting for it)
2) The total Tarp Funds given to the banks is almost exactly the same amount that it would take TODAY to bail out every upside down homeowner. Look, I am an agent-student advocate. We will always do what is ultimately best for our agents. We know that they better prepared our students are…education, motivation and having the mindset of service the faster our country will recover. With that in mind….
3) There needs to be a bail out for homeowners. A real, honest to God bailout. Lets cut through the banks BS. They have been making the rules for long enough and at this point they have proven they will always do what is best for them. They have seemingly NO interest in solving the problem. The change will have to come from the bottom up….Americans forcing the politicians to stop kicking the can down the road. Lets set aside the obvious moral ramifications of ‘bailing’ homeowners out. lets for get about who ‘deserves’ a bail out and who doesn’t. At this point, what matters is that we stop the continued erosion of the property values. If this doesn’t happen….
4) Game over for our industry. The NAR has fought for YEARs to protect our industry. If it wasn’t for the NAR there would be no real estate industry. But, over night…it’s all changed. Now the Banks and the Government DO control our industry. Who sets your commission rate now? Who establishes property values now? who decides who is ‘helped’ and who isn’t worthy? Get it?

Agents (and everyone else)…its time that we said enough is enough. NO ONE in the federal government seems to care about doing the right thing. Once housing recovers…our economy recovers. Agents, this fight is for your survival. Wake up to what is really happening…our industry…your livelihood….is being taken away from you. We need to DEMAND that real changes happen NOW to truly help homeowers.

STOP waiting for ’something to change’. BE the change. It’s time.
