In three recent articles in InmanNews, we learned that eXpRealty is expanding its geographic and human footprint.

Let’s begin with eXpRealty’s expansion into Canada. Already operating in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario, eXpRealty is setting up shop in Saskatchewan as we speak and going into Quebec, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland this summer. (I write “setting up shop” in a virtual sense since eXpRealty is a virtual cloud-based, tech-focused brokerage.)

Now let’s add eXpRealty’s just announced expansion into both the United Kingdom and Australia. EXp did not announce a time frame for setting up shop in the UK and Australia but it has announced the personnel who will lead those respective efforts. Adam Day is to be the expansion leader in the UK. Day formerly launched on of the first online brokerages in the UK. And Stephen Lea, formerly with Sotheby’s, RE/MAX and Coldwell Baker, is to be the expansion leader in Australia.

According to Deborah Stevens, eXpRealty’s director of the brokerage’s Canadian operations, “The interest in eXpRealty from Canadian agents has been phenomenal. Acadian agents are forward thinking and sharp and see the tremendous value in eXp’s technology, broker service and education programs.”

A reminder of eXpRealty’s reach…the brokerage currently operates in all 50 states with an agent count of more than 19,000 agents. EXpRealty operates its agent training and collaboration tools via its virtual cloud campus. EXp’s interactive 3-D world has the virtual effects of computer games such as Second Life, a highly effective way to keep its “students” focused and engaged. EXpRealty also offers tock equity to its agents those agents hit certain productivity, sales volume thresholds.

EXpRealty staffing in this larger Canadian footprint includes:

  • Dave Markus – administrative broker in Saskatchewan – formerly with Century21 and current president of the Association of Regina Realtors
  • Donna Dalonzo – administrative broker for Quebec – formerly with Keller Williams
  • Sandy McDonald – administrative broker in Nova Scotia – formerly with Keller Williams

AND, in terms of eXpRealty’s expanding human footprint, Veronica Figueroa, a former Inman Innovator Award winner and member of the Real Trends Thousand, has decided to take her 21-person Orlando-based team to eXpRealty.

Figueroa and her 21-person team have been with RE/MAX for nearly 10 years. In that almost decade, this team closed approximately $80M in sales volume during 2018 and is on track to sell 400 units this year.

What do Figueroa and her team like enough about eXpRealty to make this switch?

  • Collaboration among high-level teams across the country
  • Ability to cross into multiple MLSs.”
  • “Flexibility.”
  • “Collaboration aspect of their virtual cloud campus to “learn from more than just me.”

Summing up all of eXpRealty’s geographic and human expansion, Jason Gesing, executive vice president of business development for eXp World Holdings, said, “We look forward to our cloud campus being populated by real estate professionals from around the globe as they conduct business, collaborate with each other and develop meaningful personal and professional relationships across borders and cultures.”
