Sellers in most all of Brooklyn’s neighborhoods were particularly happy during Q3 2021.  Buyers had little wiggle room because Brooklyn’s median sales prices ranged from 96% to 100% of asking prices.

Sellers’ Market in New York City Saw Brisk Apartment Sales in Q3 2021

According to a recent study by StreetEasy, New York City’s sellers’ market steamrolled in Q3 2021.  Homes sold one week faster than they did during Q3 2019 (a great sales quarter) and the median sales prices hit 96% of their asking prices, an increase from 92% in Q3 2020.

StreetEasy researchers pointed to the top twenty NYC neighborhoods where sellers saw the greatest deals.  Eighteen out of 20 of these “best deals for sellers” were in Brooklyn.  In all of these neighborhoods, median sales prices ranged from 96% to 100% of asking prices.

StreetEasy’s Methodology

StreetEasy analysts looked at four data points:  median number of days on the market, share of price cuts, annual change in number of property inquiries, and the median sale to list price.  Only neighborhoods with 100 or more listings were considered.
