7 – Show overt gratitude and appreciation regularly. Joel Osteen says “bloom where you’re planted.” Focus on what’s good and either fix what’s not right or let it go. Practice random acts of kindness to your spouse. Be your spouse’s best friend.

8 – Respect your mutual environment. Be a good household citizen and clean up after yourself. Make your bed, clean the dishes, push your chair in after you leave the table, fill the coffee machine after you drain it for your own coffee. Respect your environment.
9 – Don’t be a drunk or other kind of addict. If a substance is more important than your spouse, you have a problem that needs to be addressed.
10 – Don’t lead with politics. It helps to be non Political or Politically non-denominational. Don’t allow your mind to be co-oped.
