Two Additional Cities to Consider as Climate Destinations
Anna Marandi, former program manager of climate change and sustainability with the National League of Cities, proposed two additional cities that could be safe climate destinations: Ann Arbor MI and, surprisingly, Orlando FL.
Marandi included Orlando due to the city’s newly installed measures to decarbonize the area plus the city’s commitment to affordable housing and economic sustainability.
Marandi said, “I see climate migration as an opportunity for these cities to avoid the mistakes of urban sprawl. They often have a vibrant, walkable downtown that might just need a little bit of revitalization.”
