According to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), people 50 years and older were, up until July 1, 2019, the largest group of homebuyers and sellers. Now, this Boomer demographic is second only to Millennials, ages 24 – 40, according to Pew Research.

With this newly announced AARP Real Estate Benefits from Realogy, AARP members can now receive a cash-back reward or bonus from $300 to $5,500 when buying or selling a home with a Realogy affiliated agent. Some 82% of Americans said when responding to a Realogy-sponsored survey that receiving an average $1,250 via a real estate cash benefits program would be worth setting up an emergency savings fund to “house” the money.

John Larew, AARP Services president and CEO, said, “For many older Americans, relocating to a new home is part of a major life stage transition, such as retiring, downsizing or changing jobs. The real estate program from Realogy is designed to help AARP members successfully navigate an important milestone in their lives while saving money in the process. It is part of AARP’s commitment to empowering people to choose how they live as they age.”

This partnership does NOT apply for employer-sponsored relocations, transactions in Iowa or transactions outside of the US. A MasterCard MAX gift card will be substituted for a cash-back bonus in Alaska, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas or Tennessee. A commission reduction MAY be available at closing in Mississippi, New Jersey and Oregon.
