You’ve made the decision to be a powerful prospecting machine, Congratulations!  Are you really ready, though? When you look around your office, what do you see?  Efficient and effective prospecting time only happens in the proper environment.  If there’s papers strewn everywhere, you can’t find your scripts, don’t have your database ready and your phone is about to die, then its time to get your surroundings into shape!  Today we talk about the 10 key elements of the perfect prospecting environment and why they matter to not just making contact, but setting actual appointments!

Remember: Proper Previous Planning Prevents Pitifully Poor Performance

Here’s the elements you must have to be a master prospector:

  1. Goals must be clearly posted on the wall in coordination with a dream board. You can’t get there if you don’t know the destination!  When the prospecting become monotonous (as it will) you have to remember WHY you’re doing it!
  2. White boards being used as we prescribe. This is your tracking system that reminds you daily where you are in relation to the goals you set.
  3. Phone setup must be cordless and with a quality, long-range headset (cordless preferable).  Pressing your phone and ear against the highest window in your home to get the best reception is unacceptable!  Mobility is key for energy and ability to take notes.
  4. Scripts must be organized and in a book or on the wall.  Agents waste a lot of valuable time each day trying to gather their scripts together.  Get them organized or better yet, posted on the wall in front of you and take away that excuse!
