SpaceX quietly announced its Starlink Premium product last week. Starlink Premium will connect its users to the internet via satellites nearly five times faster and at five times the cost of its standard Starlink service.

Premium users can anticipate download speeds from 150 megabits to 500 megabits per second. Latency is expected to be between 20 milliseconds to 40 milliseconds. As of January 2022, the standard Starlink product had over 145,000 users in 25 countries worldwide connecting to nearly 1,900 satellites in orbit with no data caps.
Starlink Premium Available at Premium Price
The standard Starlink product, launched in October 2020, is offered to consumers with a $99 refundable deposit, a $499 hardware fee and aa monthly fee of $99.
Touting improved hardware, faster service speeds and priority support, SpaceX is offering the Starlink Premium for a $500 refundable deposit, a $2,500 fee for the antenna and router and a service cost of $500/month.
SpaceX Starlink Premium Product To Be Delivered Q2 2022
SpaceX’s Starlink Premium satellite internet service, coming Q2 2022, is targeting business and enterprise companies. According to the SpaceX website, this new product “…has more than double the antenna capability of (the standard) Starlink, delivering faster internet speeds and higher throughput for the highest demand users, including businesses.”
SpaceX guarantees that the Starlink Premium has the capability to connect to the internet from anywhere in the world without being limited to one address.
Finally, the SpaceX website said, “Order as many Starlinks as needed and manage all of your service locations, no matter how remote, from a single account.” The website offered no projections about the number of users it hopes to serve with Starlink Premium.
