Veronika’ Bondarecko’s recent article for InmanNews underlined Trulia’s analysis of America’s most affordable neighborhoods. Trulia considered affordability, median home value and median income levels of each neighborhood among its 250+ tracked major and minor metros nationwide.
Two questions pop into one’s mind as home values keep climbing…how long can home values continue to increase and when will a true buyer’s market actually show up?
Here are Trulia’s current most affordable neighborhoods:
Beechwood OH – 15 minutes away from Columbus OH and the most affordable neighborhood in the US. Neighborhood is known for mid-century homes and is popular with retirees.

- Median home value – $79,779
Homeacre-Lyndora PA – just outside of Pittsburgh and known for its white picket fences.

Florissant MO – neighborhood is a suburb of St. Louis
- Median income of neighborhood – $60,900
- Median home value – $112,142
Speedway IN – northeast side of and close to the center of Kansas City and Buckeye Greenway, the popular state Nature Park.
- Median income of neighborhood – $62,600
- Median home value – $103,476
The neighborhood of Speedway is the only urban neighborhood on Trulia’s list of most affordable.
