According to Trulia, today’s hottest neighborhoods live in the Midwest and Southwest.
Trulia looked at the year-to-year change in home values, the median days on the market data and the change in days on the market since last year to make its determinations.
Here are Trulia’s Hottest Neighborhoods So Far into 2019:
Southeast Colorado Springs – $275,000, +12.6% home value growth in 2018
Southeast Colorado Springs, just as Colorado Springs overall, has been hot for a while now. The area boasts strong job growth and young, hungry buyers. This neighborhood is close to Pike National Forest (and Pike’s Peak itself) and draws eager residents who love outdoor adventures. The neighborhood is also filled with dog parks, horse parks and green spaces.
Alger Heights – $134,000, +16.2% home value growth in 2018
Alger Heights is just 30 miles from Lake Michigan and in the heart of the Grand Rapids metro. The area is close to beautiful shorelines, a thriving arts community and affordable homes. The neighborhood itself boasts friendliness, parks, good eats and walkability.
Normandy Estate – $169,500
Normandy Estate in the metro of Jacksonville FL is known as a green neighborhood with 50% of its mass under a green canopy of trees. The median age in Normandy Estate is 38. With sun, surf, shade, dog friendliness and child centeredness, what’s not to like?
Southeast Austin – $318,000, +16.0% home value growth in 2018
Southeast Austin is a more affordable option than downtown Austin and its SVSW Festival, Whole Foods, etc. Southeast Austin is easily accessible to Town Lake and Zilker Park and is across the street from the McKinney Falls State Park.
Agritopia – $309,800, +14.6% home value growth in 2018
Agritopia lives within Gilbert AZ and was the 2018 winner of Trulia’s Neighborly Award for being the most child friendly neighborhood in the country. In many ways, Agritopia is a “Back to the Future” neighborhood with tree-lined streets, outdoor amenities and picket fences.
South Kilburn – $125,000, +14.5% home value growth in 2018
South Kilburn is a more affordable option than Columbia SC while being in the center of Columbia. The South Kilburn neighborhood has easy access to Williams-Brice Stadium and the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. The neighborhood also boasts great restaurants, nightlife and sporting events.
