Realtor.com’s list and rankings of hottest zip codes  in the US accounted for two aspects of the housing market: market demand as expressed by the number of unique viewers per property on its website; and the pace of the market as expressed by the number of days a listing stays active on its website.  Bottom line…for Realtor.com, the hottest areas are the ones that generate the most unique views/property and zip codes having the fastest-selling houses.

Demand in these top zip codes has doubled in the past year to an average of +156%.  Some zip codes saw demand jump by 3.2 times their surrounding metro and +3.9 times the national average.

Hottest Zip Codes in More Suburban Areas

Only 01960 – Peabody MA and 48336 – Farmington MI are located among one of the 20 largest US metros…Detroit and Boston.  All the other eight zip codes are less densely populated with under 3M people and about 16 miles from downtown areas.
