We’re joined by Jonathan Smoke from Realtor.com (a Move.Com subsidiary) to discuss the July housing report and the state of America’s real estate economy. Smoke is the 20-year veteran of the real estate industry, and recently became the first chief economist for Realtor.com.

For the past six years, Smoke has served in key executive roles for Hanley Wood, a premier information, media, event, and strategic marketing services company serving the residential, commercial design and construction industries. Prior to that, he founded BlueSmoke, LLC of Atlanta, a housing market research company that provided services to a variety of real estate industry companies and operated the website HousingIntelligence.com and RatingInsights.com.
Smoke earned a masters degree in business administration in 1994 from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor of arts degree in economics and religious studies from Rhodes College.
