You’re tired of tossing and turning, unable to shut off the worries and wondering.  Did you send that document to the bank?  Did you confirm that home inspection for tomorrow? When 3am constantly brings stress about a deal instead of sweet dreams, the negative effects on your business are real. The inability to deal with stress manifests itself in lack: lack of income, lack of control and and lack of motional stability.  It’s a recipe for real estate disaster! Today finish talking about 7 ways that you can take back control, conquer stress and sleep easy knowing that you don’t have to live like this any longer!

When it comes down to it, we’re talking about good old fashioned stress.  What is it?  By definition, stress is a specific response by the body to a stimulus, as fear or pain, that disturbs or interferes with the normal physiological equilibrium of an organism.  Wow!  It sounds complex, but while real estate stress can’t be eliminated entirely, you can control your emotional response to it.

How you deal with stress is the difference between being a top producing agent and being like everyone else.  Top producers know that walking around saying “I’m so stressed” all the time subconsciously prevents them from earning more money, helping more people and handling more business.  The repetitive thought that you “can’t handle it” explains the feast and famine mindset of real estate!

So, let’s conquer stress and take back control!  The result? You’ll enjoy a higher income, happier transactions, more repeat and referral business, better sleep and and enhanced emotional stability!  And the best part?  More predictable and duplicatable business!

3.  THINK before you SPEAK!  This is both for the benefit of you and the other person. Get out of judgment and adopt a “its too soon to tell” mentality.  Don’t engage with a volatile client, agent or prospect when they’re upset.  Take 20 minutes to calm your nerves and then come back to the conversation when everyone is more calm, reasonable and less stressed.

4. Keep your perspective.  It’s real estate, not brain surgery. What is actually going on and what you think is happening may be two different things.  Be the non-reactive business person that brings things together, not the one that has to be right all the time!
