How to not just set goals but achieve them this month, this quarter and this year.

For the rest of you who already have your goals written down, it’s time to get serious, and drill down on achieving your goals. It’s one thing to write them down; it’s another thing to follow through. Today, we’ll share the secrets top real estate agents deploy to crush their goals every week, month, and quarter and ultimately create their best year ever, no matter the market conditions!

- Set S.M.A.R.T. Goals:
- Specific: Clearly define objectives. For example, aim for “secure five new listings per month” rather than a vague goal like “increase sales.”
- Measurable: Establish criteria to track progress, such as the number of client meetings or calls made weekly.
- Achievable and Realistic: Set challenging yet attainable goals.
- Time-Bound: Assign deadlines to create urgency and focus, like achieving a certain number of sales by the end of each quarter.

2. Focus on One Behavior at a Time:
- Concentrate on a single habit change rather than trying to overhaul your entire life.

- Commit to never ending a day where you have leads you haven’t called. Email and text don’t count. Your voicemail should not be full. No matter the lead source, commit to calling leads back immediately.
- Commit to starting and ending the day at the same time. Have a set wake-up and quitting time. Treat your business like a real job, where you’re accountable for showing up and doing the work required to get the desired results.
- Commit to making a minimum number of contacts on all workdays. Start with the number of contacts equal to the deals you need to do this year. If your goal is to make $120,000 and your average commission is $10,000, you need 12 contacts every workday to meet or exceed that goal. - Track Your Goals Visually:

- Utilize whiteboards for other specific goals to keep them visible and actionable.
4. Break Down Goals into Manageable Steps:
- Divide larger objectives into smaller, actionable tasks. If you’ve never contacted an expired seller, don’t set a goal of speaking to 20 this week. Start with breaking the ice. Get help from your coach so you excel faster. Begin with three expired contacts per day for one week, then move to 5 or 10 the following.

5. Celebrate Small Wins:
- Recognize and reward incremental achievements to maintain motivation and reinforce positive behaviors.

8. Anticipate and Plan for Obstacles:
- Identify potential challenges, like kid schedules, vacation time, market fluctuations, or other road bumps. Instead of using those as excuses, create a plan that takes them into account.
